Finao fabric covered albums.

One of the best album companies in the business is Finao. They not only offer an assortment of leather covers and options but, they also have a variety of fabric designs (over 200 different cover options!). I often create smaller engagement books, guest books, gift books and small albums for wedding venues with these exotic fabric covers. The slide show below shows some of the recent fabric covered albums. The first 11″x10″ yellow covered album was for Vina Robles Winery and Vineyard. Vina Robles Winery is a popular wedding venue in Paso Robles located within walking distance of both Robert Hall Winery and Bianchi Winery. The wedding showcased in the yellow album is James and Danielle’s which took place last summer: HERE. The next album is a little 5″x5″ book that Joe had made for Jeni as a little gift after their engagement shoot. The third album (9″x10″ blue album) is the James and Danielle’s guest book, used at their Paso Robles winery wedding. Finally, the 9″x12″ blue album is an example of a guest book with black pages. “Ain’t nothin’ but the blues!”

I still enjoy shooting a bit of film for my personal (i.e. Payton) pictures. A few weeks ago I found this awesome little Nikon N75 film camera online for a steal. I’ve been needing to get some images of my proof books up on the blog so, I decided I’d take this little camera out for a test spin. 15 minutes at the old barns, some Fuji Superia Xtra 400 and 36 frames later, I had my shots. I love the film grain found in these images. These grainy shots remind me of Keb’ Mo’ and his Suitcase song. Check out the slide show below to hear the song and see the proof books.

An ode to Green. Green, you are in the leaves above my head and the soft grassy tickle beneath my feet. I adore that you find your way into my Ben & Jerry’s Mint-Chocolate-Chunk-Sweet-Cream-and-Cookies pint, Michelle’s gorgeous eyes and sometimes my flip-flops. Is it wrong to love you? No, I think not – if this is wrong, then right is wronger (yes, I understand that wronger isn’t a word, but this is pure verse, rhyme – - poetry at its utmost remedial level). Green, green, green, like REM and algae and Irish Spring. You remind me Green, of the lovely salad I had at Novo in San Luis Obispo with the toasted almonds, cranberries, feta, caramelized onions and other yummy stuffs. Oh Green how I love thee and the fact that you are at your best as guacamole filling my bowl.
