Ashley and James – Film

Vineyards in Santa Ynez Valley and across the Central Coast are some of my very favorite wedding venues. The wedding “film” you see below was from earlier this summer at Coquelicot vineyard in Solvang. Ashley and James’ are a remarkable couple who had an absolute blast at their wedding. The images shown here are from a roll of film shot as the sun was setting behind the big oak tree at Coquelicot Vineyards. Film is sometimes mysterious and fun to play with as the texture and colors can’t be digitally reproduced. And every now and then the film doesn’t quite roll right and you get some fun split frames and craziness on the negative (see below).

Ashley and James – Wedding Preview Movie

Ashley and James had their Coquelicot Vineyard wedding yesterday. Coquelicot Vineyard (HERE) is in Solvang and has an amazing barn right on the property. I love barn weddings as they always have great light shining through the slats and the open feel brings the outside inside during the entire reception. Solvang weddings this time of year are truly wonderful as the weather is gorgeous and the hills are only just turning from green to gold. I pieced together a few video clips I took as I was photographing the day. I hope you enjoy this little preview.

The music is Shine by Rosi Golan. Ashley, James and their incredible wedding party were so much fun it made me think of this song as I was doing my edit.

Ashley and James | Coquelicot Wedding Photography

James and Ashley are an incredible couple. James had Ashley and I laughing the entire time we were out. Ashley is a sweetheart who adores her man. These two were an absolute pleasure to photograph and I am very excited to be their Santa Ynez wedding photographer. Next summer these two will be married at the Coquelicot Vineyard which is actually closer to Los Olivos than Santa Ynez. Both towns are about an hour north of Santa Barbara. Their summer wedding will be held amongst the vineyards and the Coquelicot estate will serve as a gorgeous backdrop. Thank you Ashley and James for a wonderful afternoon full of laughter and adventure.

The light amongst these oaks just north of San Luis Obispo was incredible.

I can’t wait for their Santa Ynez wedding!

The fields just north of San Luis Obispo have officially turned from dried up brown straw to gorgeous green grass.
