Natasha and Brad – Engagement

Natasha and Brad wanted to incorporate the drive-in theater into their engagement shoot. And having never been to a drive-in (shocking and a bit pathetic….I know) I was excited to give it a try! So, we started our shoot at Sunset just south of San Luis Obispo. As the sun went down, I could tell it was going to be one of those amazing nights where the color dial is turned up to super-crazy-over-the-top-maximum-saturation! With that kind of vibrant sky coming fast, we headed over to Bishops Peak for sunset. After the sun went down, we headed back over to the drive-in and had some fun looking all around for any light we could find (who new the drive-in was so dark?). Anyways, thanks Natasha and Brad for a great little adventure.

Kalena and Richard – Engagement

A few weeks ago, I received an email from Kalena – a creative lady with a passion for baking. Her idea: turn her and her fiancé Richard’s favorite pastime together (baking!) into an engagement shoot. So unique! I jumped at the chance to shoot a couple in their element. They searched out and found an incredible kitchen in San Luis Obispo and the end product was as delicious as it looks.

Emily and Jimmy – Film | San Luis Obispo Wedding Photographers

I photographed Emily and Jimmy a few weeks ago. Check out the rest of their engagement shoot: HERE. The pictures below are from the film I received back from my lab earlier this week. The film portion of the image collection provides an entirely different look when compared to the digital files. During the shoot, the lighting was vibrant and colorful. Because of this I decided to use a film stock that would create a soft pastel look. In contrast to the fully vibrant and super colorful digital images, the shots below are a soft and sweet addition to the collection. I find it fascinating that I sometimes prefer the pictures captured on film and other times I prefer the digitally captured ones. I love that I have the option to choose!
