Shannon and Ryan – Engagement

Some days I am more thankful than others that I seem to attract really outstanding couples. Shannon, Ryan and I met up at 7am on the day of the time change (that’s 6am if we had started the day before). Due to scheduling constraints, our only option for doing their engagement shoot required a bit of early morning creativity. Luckily for me, Shannon was bright-eyed and full of a sweet energy that kept Ryan on his toes and me scrambling to keep up. I do a lot of engagement shoots and almost every one of them is done in the evening. Because of this, I’m really used to where the sun will be and where I need to go at certain times of the day. In this situation, the sun was literally on the opposite side of the earth (who new?). Basically, I found myself in a crazy opposite world shooting on the opposite sides of roads, mountain ranges and working with light that was increasingly getting worse, not better.

Ok, enough about light and my incredible ability to wake up…..because you know, no one has ever had to do that before.

Shannon and Ryan are a wonderful couple. I love these images and I can’t wait to photograph them later this year.
