Maria and David’s wedding in Ojai, California last week was full of close friends, horse ranches, hot weather, Hollywood folks, a gorgeous sunset, lots of hay bails, live music and more love than I’ve seen gathered together in a very long time! I wish you could have been there; I wish you could have smelled the fresh cut lavender scent and overheard friends connecting with old friends and seen the selflessness that happens behind the scenes by family and loved ones when everyone gathers together at a home where a lifetime of precious memories have taken place to celebrate a very special moment. There is history surrounding the Perry’s home. I saw their past in pictures propped up on furniture in their living room and memorabilia scattered throughout the house. Mia wanted her wedding at home. She wanted to be surrounded by her friends, family and everyone that has been a part of her life up until this point – because this to her is where she comes from; this is her home.
PJ started 1st grade last week. The memories we are making today, yesterday and the ones we will make tomorrow hold more value than so many of my prior experiences. Michelle, PJ and I are carving out a life full of love, happiness, craziness, sadness, new experiences, respect and love. This is real life. These are our roots, grit, nuts’n’bolts that all three of us will remember. I applaud the Perry’s for creating a life….a home full of experiences and love that Maria and David wanted as a part of their wedding day.

Hold on tight to those you love….I’m not letting go of mine.
