I’ve been photographing weddings out at Lago Giuseppe since they started hosting events many years ago. I’ve become friends with Joe and Jeanine (the owners) as well as their kids that help put on the wedding days. Their family is very close and always willing to help out when needed. Because they are such a close-knit family (that has been exposed to a huge variety of wedding photographers), it was a real honor to be the one they asked to photograph Erin and Anthony’s (Jeanine and Joe’s son) wedding.
On the day of the wedding, I showed up early and found a bunch of people camping and sleeping in trailers, tents on top of mountains and outside under the stars. Obviously there had been a lot of celebration in preparation for the main event. The day went off without a hitch and had a festival vibe going throughout. After hours and hours on my feet, I eventually made my way through the dark, out past the lake and into my car with a smile on my face as I made the late night drive home. As I left, I could tell that the celebration was going to continue into the far reaches of night. As family and friends from far and near were there to visit and celebrate a very special day and had nowhere else to go but into each others arms as they danced under the stars.
