Kerry and Luke – Engagement

Yesterday (Sunday) was my birthday. PJ, Michelle and I have been sharing a cold and decided to take it easy by keeping the festivities to a minimum. We did the things we needed to do and then spent the evening easing our sore throats and stuffy heads with pieces of pineapple upside down cake (PUDC) washed down with warm tea.

This Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing Kerry and Luke. At sunset, we made our way up Terrace Hill which is close to our homes. The view from the top is just close enough to town to feel like you are still in town but, high enough that you can see the mountains, the city streets and buildings that fill up the valley where we choose to live. Taking a few minutes to appreciate the area (especially the night before another year has officially passed by) and the sacrifices we make to live in a highly desirable part of the world – is something I should do more often. As I get older, my life is becoming less about the things I want and more about the people I know, the child Michelle and I are raising, a busy photography business, a happy marriage that continues to grow and evolve, and of course, enjoying this gorgeous place that I call home.

Happy birthday to me!
